Ok, so somehow I got it in my mind to make some homemade butter. A little research told me all I needed was some good heavy whipping cream and a jar to shake it in or a food processor. The latter two I have on hand. The first of these, as I know all too well from my previous culinary adventures can be hard to obtain in this part of the world. At least if by cream you mean something with a lot of butterfat and no non-dairy additives to “make it creamier” or whatever crap the marketers of dairy products would have you believe.

So, as usual that plan got changed into something slightly different as I discovered more information. Turns out that there is in fact a way to buy raw milk Continue Reading $15 Worth of Milk and What I Did With It…

Well, we are still alive. I expected that anyhow. This morning was just a practice session.

Seems the guys over at CERN have successfully fired up the LHC. That’s the Large Hadron Collider for those of you that are acronymically challenged, or really don’t pay much attention to the world of particle physics.

If you care about particle physics you can check out the official press release. If you don’t care, it’s ok. It should be about 6 weeks before they fire up the massive particle accelerator with particle beams going in both directions, aimed directly at each other. Art and web design by Matthew James Taylor.

If you are looking for some of the slickest CSS web-design stuff around, look no further. This man has put together some of the best stuff I have seen. He writes in an easy to understand and follow format, and explains very well what is happening behind the scenes.

His designs are all diagrammed in separate colors, so you can easily follow his at-first-seemingly-complex nested structures, but once you have looked into the inner workings of a few of them, you will see that they mostly follow a common concept, involving one more level of DIV tags then you would think.

I had been playing around with similar concepts of mutliple column page structures, and the positioning was driving me nuts! After checking his concepts and designs – it is all becoming clearer now. I was using one too few DIVs and had made some pretty basic positioning mistakes.

My kudos go out to this CSS wizard! Check him out. You can download templates, or just read his articles. Great site.
